Woke up at home! Spent part of the morning getting things back in place. I take my coffee maker to my friend's house when I stay over.

Being gone for just over a week and then seeing my little place with fresh eyes shows that I really need to dust and vacuum  ???   [laugh]  I might even rearrange - as much as I can within my 550 square feet.

[coffee] time now. Everything else can wait.

Hope everyone's teams win today, cleaning takes half the time and the food and beverages have half the calories but all the taste.

So much sadness in the world right now. For me it is much closer to home.

My crack head sister has been clean for just over 5 years. No longer. She fell off the wagon last week. She called me yesterday - crying and asking for money to pay the bills. They (her live in boyfriend) spent all their money on drugs.  Mark, the bf, recently got a good county job. He started having a beer or 2 after work. Slippery slope. He missed some work, still has the job.

Jenny said that maybe they don't deserve good, so the relapse is a reaction to that. Sounds like they spent a week doing noting but crack.

I don't know. Not sure what to do. I like my money, work hard for it, and don't want to send any.

How do I tell her no.  :'(

GK

That's certainly a tough situation LMT.

May the words you need to say and their tone be exactly what your sister and bf need to hear.

Sorry about your sis, LMT. I don't know what to tell you, or her.

Evening all.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Rhetorical question really. I am just sad. We have been getting to know one another and I don't want to be seen as a bank in times of need.

Stella

Oh Mary, I'm so sorry about your sister.

I've not heard anything good about the "enabling" side of life but (call me the over-stater-of-the-obvious) you need to do what you think is right.

:-\

We're here to listen.   And cyberhug.

In other news, there is no other news which is not a bad thing.   ;)   Just one of my fav seasonal beers to finish the weekend with the gas (lame) fire and the pups (not so lame):  http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/2210/45897/

Perhaps you can pay a bill directly, so that the money doesn't get intercepted and squandered.

And use that payment as leverage for improved behavior.

<Caveat; I'm about as far from a psych professional as one can get, and have no siblings, so that may be a bad idea. All I could come up with.>

Good luck!  [thumbsup]

I thought of that and sent her a note earlier.
