morning . .

just prepared this, will cook it on the grill

Adobo or mojo per kilogram pork, mine is 6kg/13lbs:

½ head of garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground oregano
1 teaspoon ground comino
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 large onion
1 sour orange or grapefruit

Mash the garlic, salt, and peppercorns together with a mortar and pestle. Add dried oregano, onion, and the sour orange to make a mash -- mix thoroughly. Heat the olive oil in a 2-quart saucepan until hot, but NOT deep frying hot! We're looking for something in the neighborhood of 220 degrees F. Remove the saucepan from the heat source. Carefully add the mash to the hot oil and whisk gently. Let cool. Pierce the pork as many times as you can with a sharp knife or fork. Pour garlic mixture (save a little for roasting) over pork, cover and let sit in refrigerator for 2-3 hours or preferably overnight.

Morning.

The visit fro my mom is going as well as I expected. I've been lectured on:

being too fat
not having a job
having it too easy
spending too much money
not being good enough to your wife that's why she's going to leave you
not having food in the house that she wants (when asked what I should buy she tells me she wants nothing)
Working too hard
Not working hard enough
How she never had any help and she did more around the house than I do (let's ignore that my grandfather was retired and babysat until my brother was 12 and I was 8)
I need a haircut and to shave

Stunning the sheer volume of things I'm incapable of handling.

I wonder if my wife knows.  [roll]
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

That is a standard checklist, as published in the Mothers of Grown Children manual.

Elaboration is required...

To elaborate on the event in question would reiterate common stereotypes of several demographics, thereby be deemed offensive in nature.
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Of course she does.

I asked my wife if she had seen my spare wallet. (the one where I keep the infrequently use cards) she got upset and told me that "I only have one responsibility, all you have to do is keep up with your wallet" So I guess that's all I have to do now.

Apparently she's not through with the list yet, as there's still:

"You're spoiling the children!"
"You're raising them to be hobos/serial killers/prostitutes!"
"Why haven't you fixed that squeaky door?"

Not even close to the entire list of disappointments...

Oh yes. I love hearing about all my deficiencies through all waking hours. She's downright depressing to be around.

You'll miss her...

someday.

Not today apparently...but someday.

I suspect she's in the early stages of something neurological. She cant always remember my name, and a number of other things seems to be slipping.

I suppose I already miss her former self.

Right now she's just toxic to be around.  :-\

It didn't go well 5 or so years ago when she stayed with you IIRC.

How old is she?
