No...I reluctantly fixed/had it fixed the items necessary for inspection and am in the process of spending even more to be able to tow the trailer.

I just couldn't afford two payments at the same time. The Escape is only a year old, and the only payment I could possibly swing at the same time was a lease on a pickup. I don't want a lease. That, to me anyway, just equates to a never ending payment.

We both really like the car.

At about ~16.5K miles...no issues, gets ~25mpg, is comfortable, and reasonably fun to drive.

Great car though it is - by all reports.
