The rotor has been sticking from debris getting into the pump, I think. I should drain it down and disassemble it, but for now I just reach down in and give it a little spin and it comes out of it...until I clean the filter again and it acts up.

The manufacturer's lawyer made them install a GFCI in the cord, as well as the electrical inspector making me install one at the outlet, so it's so safe it barely works. [thumbsup]

So the GFCI has it's own GFCI.

Reminds me of something I heard at a house party once.  In a carpeted room, there was a throw rug on top of an area rug.  Husband says to wife... "Hey honey, I think we need some more rugs for our rugs for our rugs!"

I have it hanging from a ladder to keep it off the ground, and it had fallen. Perhaps the plug moved enough when it landed to signal a voltage change.

All outside outlets are supposed to be GFCI protected, so that's what I did.

The manufacturer doesn't need the liability of someone running an extension cord from a non protected outlet so they put one in there.
