Morning . . . For some reason, took me a few hours to actually know what day it was . . .

I've been popping onto the DMF more frequently in the past few months primarily to read a day in the life of Dave - dad posts.

;D

Drinking coffee here, working from home, squash in the oven for the pup and I, quotes for customers in the works, going to try and get on my bike at lunch....

All in anticipation of 8 long consecutive work days starting on Sunday.

Oh, also googling best oil to add to the '99 Cherokee XJ

Suggestions?   5w30 or 10w30?    297,000 miles and counting.

Check engine light is on and oil gauge is near 0.     ???    Thinking I need to add a quart before I drive it to a shop.

For a jeep that old I'd add Canola.

Really, I doubt it cares.

Being a stay at home dad is harder than building spacecraft  :P
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Stella

Canola it is, then.   [thumbsup]

I don't doubt this at all.

It'll burn it up anyway...use what's close at hand.

Oil gauge for pressure or level?  If it is low pressure and it is till low after you add the quart, particularly at RPM higher than idle you might want it towed.

Stella

Oil gauge for the pressure is near zero.   Just back from bringing it to an AutoZone to have them run the diagnostic but nothing came up (although I don't know how much value to put into their tools).

Checked the oil and it's not low so I didn't add any.

Will schedule an appt. with the local shop.  I'd like the baby to make it to 300k.   ;)

Thanks for the input guys!

Good whateverning.

The last couple days in SoCal weren't as good as the first three.   First issue was having to work.  Second was overcast skies starting almost as soon as our meetings did on Monday afternoon.  Third was serious hangover on Tuesday, due to [shot] [shot] [shot] at Monday evening reception (not really shots, but copious amounts of bourbon).

Seriously busy back at the office yesterday afternoon and today.

Working from home in the morning, as I've got a couple warranty appointments on this townhouse...can't really believe that next year will mark a year in it.

Off to Denver next week for a couple days to deal with HOA issues there.  [bang] [bang] [bang]  But I get to see Ollie  [bacon], so that is good.

Also, I'm picking up a new ride next week.  I've been driving a 2018 Camry since April-ish 2017.  Longest that I've had the same car since 1999 or so.  I have a 2019 Tacoma TRD Off Road on the way.

Fishing license renewed...  at a fee increase of 41% over last year. >:( [bang]

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Evening gents.

I'm getting ready to hit the local lakes meself.

The kids are excited.

They want to see a catfish-we haven't caught one yet.

Have you tried noodling?

Yes, that's how I ended up with kids.

I'll tell you more about it when you're older.
