Good morning [coffee]

Welcome back Nate!

I've been off the grid for almost a week.  It's been good.

Glad you're home safe and all apparently went well down Mexico way DP.

And Howie....  sorry to learn of your wife's health troubles.... Just let me add to well wishes... and that if there's anything I can do - as part of this amazing DMF family - you only have to say the word mate...

Sitting at a bar in JFK. It's a good thing I don't live in NY. I'd have to be sober. $20 for one drink. What make the beast with two backsing planet are these mothermake the beast with two backsers from?.....
Conversely, if I lived in NH I couldn't afford to be sober - couldn't believe how cheap booze is (and how huge the bottles of it are)....  the mixers cost more  [laugh]

I left Mexico at 11:16 am. It was about 84 degrees. Of course I wore shorts, and a t-shirt. I packed my jacket in my checked luggage so I didn't have to carry it, because it wouldn't fit in my laptop case.

Landed at JFK at 4 something, and it was about 50 something degrees, raining, and the wind was blowing pretty good. I went outside for a cigarette, and froze my ass off. At least when I got to Logan I could get my jacket out of my bag to try to stay warmish. I'm thinking...Cancun was so much nicer, why do I live where I do? Then it all came back to me. There's no (relatively) people here. I can wear enough clothes, usually, to stay warm, but I can't make people stay the make the beast with two backs away.

Been a busy morning. Fixed the DW...wouldn't drain. Had to mow. Things were looking kinda shaggy.

Welcome home, Nate! Sounds like you're already back in chores mode and enjoying a bit of distance from the press of people - all good news.

BTW...thanks, everyone, for the warm welcome home.

I do have to say, I can't speak highly enough about the work I had done, the relative costs, and the fact that it was pain free. Yes, I have some tenderness from the stitches now, and on day 2/3 I had some little aches from healing, but no pain. I was fully sedated for the procedure and had pain meds for 3 days. I don't remember the ride back to my room. I do remember lying down on my bed fully clothed, my host knocking on the door sometime that evening to offer me some soup, and her audible gasp when she saw me.

After looking in the mirror I realized why. I'll let your imaginations fill in the blanks.  ;D

I'm not sure what she knew. I don't speak Spanish, and she doesn't speak English.
