Meeting friends for in a bit. Haven't seen 'em in almost a year.

Anyone know a good way to motivate a child in their late 20's whose life is really "stuck"?

P/T job at a grocery store
No medical bene's to speak of
Lives in a sh*t neighborhood
Doesn't eat right
Doesn't take care of themselves
Has NO desire to change

UGH! I'm at wits end. They're crazy wicked smart and a talented artist to boot...

I don't think you can help someone that won't try to help themselves. Are there any special circumstances?

Very sorry Mary that, as Steve said, you couldn't give the company the bird before they could. That stinks.
But I really do like the consultant path you're thinking of.

Stu, what a tough position to be in with the kiddo. This non-parent has nothing but moral support.



Quick 30 hours in the land of corn and hogs Th & Fri for a work dinner and breakfast. A lot of effort but worthwhile and not taken for granted.


Other than 4 replacement window wells and some new landscaping in the front yard (both of which are not optional to pass on), I'll be a LOT less spendy for a while.    

Going to finish my coffee in bed with my puppers and get to work on finalizing a well crew and closet purging on a cold icy snowy day.

Stu a good friend of mine is in a very similar situation ... Told her, he's your son, it pains you but, either he works and puts something on the table or you show him the door ... It's either partying on weekends or video gaming weekdays

Had a last minute art/graffiti tour this afternoon.  Was great until the last 10 minutes.  Some dude at the really cool indoor/outdoor space across the street from my mural covered condo jumped in and said that we weren't doing enough to support street artists, while I was explaining murals to my guests.  I advised that we 1) buy stickers from the artists that they usually giveaway at a premium (stickers cost about $0.30, we pay artist $1.00 and buy a couple hundred at a time), 2) donate to festivals, 3) personally purchase prints and other merch from local artists and 4) refer local artists for commissioned work. 5) Regularly promote their work on social media.  Wasn't good enough for him.  Whatever.  I've got a 10' X 10' wall on my balcony that I'll have one of them paint someday. make the beast with two backs that guy.
