Just part of the house....

I've been on fire twice.

Once by my own hand once by some other fool.

It's motivating.

i've only done a small part of the house.

i've set myself on fire a few times. a couple were while i was trying to be cool and play with fire. it sucks when you're not wearing natural fibers and things go awry. the rest were turning to grab something with a torch/candle/stove/bonfire closer than it should have been.
it's motivating to get the hell away and put yourself out.

i've hit myself in the face with a baseball bat. i knocked myself out on that one too.


why are we having a "i did somethign stupider" discussion?

I'll just add that between a 1-bedroom apartment and 2 cars, we have 3 fire extinguishers.

You act like not wanting me to die in a fire is something surprising to everyone.


Speaking of fire, I think the hookah needs to come play.

i only have 2 fire extingushers. i've gotten good at putting myself out through other means.

and i generally don't catch anything on fire that can't be contained quickly. as i tell the g/f, "i'm smart about my pyromania"

I just remembered another fire incident.

i set the beard on fire once too. that involved alcohol, gasoline, and a fire pit.

Probably neither one of you has seen more than one car fire.

if you mean cars that you where in that caught fire, yes.......
if you mean cars that you have to deal with that are on fire............no

My only fire incident was accidentally, um, spreading it a bit, first time in fire extinguisher safety training.  All the other times I nailed it though.

Now, when I was teaching chemistry lab, my students did seem to have some clumsy and/or pyro tendencies.

As a lab instructor you're probably aware that all the info on the label of a bottle of ether is accurate...

right?

My only camera is a Polaroid!  I have 2 packs of film left.  They quit making it....

I couldn't believe it one time in a lab, someone older and supposedly more experienced than me, picked up a 20-year old bottle of ether and started shaking it to see how much was inside! 

I was torn between screaming at him to stop and just running for it.

Oh and we had plenty of fires with newer bottles of ether too.

I cooked four steaks, had a beer, gave some of the meat to the dogs, and am now smoking the hookah.
