So Stew, is poetry an outlet of yours? I don't write much of it, but have tried on occasion. I even had one published. Back when I was single, I'd find a way to slip into the conversation that I was "a published poet" as a joke -- because my sole publication credit was Dirt Rag magazine. I think they sent me $10, a whole handful of stickers & some XXL Dirt Rag bike socks.

It has been for 20+ years now but I don't write as much as I used to when I was younger and more full of angst (my old stuff is weird to read...).  BTW, my old stuff....is NEVER going to see the light of day w/o serious editing!  ;)

I don't make much public but last nights effort seemed good so I put it out there for you guys/gals to copy/paste/enjoy/share...

Motorcyclist punches car driver was the headline:

From the Seattle PI
Jan. 6, 2:40 p.m. â€" A policeman watched a motorcyclist appear to punch a driver in the head after the driver turned into the motorcyclist's lane without seeing him. Later, in the 2300 block of North Northgate Way, the officer stopped the motorcyclist, who allegedly said it was "not one of my proudest days of my life, officer." He claimed the driver of the four-door blue car was on his cell phone and clearly not paying attention. The motorcyclist yelled; the driver mocked him. The motorcyclist allegedly claimed he "knocked the phone out of his hand and said, 'get off the damn phone,'" according to the report.

"The victim vehicle drove off past my stop and did not attempt to make contact with me as I expected he would," officer Loren Street wrote. "I admonished (the motorcyclist) about his actions but it was clear to me that he already realized his mistake as he was very humble … about the entire incident.

Heaviest Element Yet Known to Science: (Gv)

Lawrence Livermore Laboratories has discovered the heaviest element yet known to science...  The new element, Governmentium (Gv) , has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.

These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons , which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons.

Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert; however, it can be easily detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A tiny amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second, to take from 4 days to 4 years to complete.

Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2- 6 years. It does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places.

In fact, Governmentium's mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes.

This characteristic of morons promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass.

When catalyzed with money, Governmentium becomes Administratium, an element that radiates just as much energy as Governmentium, since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons.

WARNING: As the Ass. Neutrons in Gv, increase, activities slow to near zero.  If the Critical Morass goes Super Critical a black hole can develop thereby destroying all advancement.

the audi's are solid, and they took care of me as a customer
and they still want me as a customer, hopefully enough to take the car off my hands

we've never driven a subaru
mike thinks we should go there first  [laugh]

The modern subaru's, especially the slightly modded WRX's and STI's are very nice. I've worked on several and driven a few. Unless they fixed in in the last two-three years, stock interior is functional, but not impressive. Stock paint is shiny enough but can be easily scratched. Stock tires are teh suck. They are a hoot to drive and terribly dependable.

And I have it on good authority that they can pull a fully-laden tractor-trailer rig out of a snowbank. Or something like that.
