Travis, has anyone been declared a medical proxy for your dad?  If not, you might want to look into it.

i am the proxy. i was named proxy monday morning when he had to be intubated. well, not really names, but i was the closest proximity blood relative and took over the task of making the decisions. however, his mother is not known to take no for an answer and is not dealing with not being the one to make the choices (also seen by her as being in control of the situation)

my sisters were finally able to make it out to see him and have helped me deal with her and my aunt. did i mention that i went off on her while she was being passive aggressive and after she was rooting through his stuff? yeah, that one was fun.  [bang]

anyways, he is taking baby steps in the correct direction and i am learning more about his bodily functions and what they mean than i EVER wanted to know. i have also gotten to know his fiance and a couple of relatives much better through this.
i have also shelled out quite a bit of money to finialize his move and stuff. :P he beter get well, he owes me money!  [laugh]

Um...  I guess we're doing fine by comparison.  ???

Glad you're back Travis.  Keep the faith man...  You're in my thoughts.  (like so many DMF'ers these days...)
