If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

It's strange sometimes how the truth can be right in front of you for a long time and then suddenly you see it....

Bored.  I read the whole paper, even the parts I usually save for later in the week.  Dinner is not until later.  I do have a haircut appt at 2.  That will liven up my day.

I made omelets for breakfast
washed the dishes
Did a load of laundry
Dusted the house
Read the NYT's
And played 100 or so backgammon games against the computer. I win 36% of the time.
Laura is at work :P

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee  indeed!

I burned my hand.  No reason to panic, as I am medically trained.  Treatment is to hop about while cursing, and then run under cool water.  Not a bad burn, was turning the Turkey and the pot holder slipped.
User error!

Just because you are trained to treat it doesn't mean you have to inflict it on yourself so you can have more practice.

Avoid infection - treat with alcohol - internally.   [beer]

How was the bird?

The bird is looking good.  Menu is turkey, mashed taters, gravy, asparagus roasted with parmesan, butter lettuce salad with fennel, grapefruit and pistachios, and lemon pudding cake.

Wine from Oregon.

A pinot?

From Wooldridge Creek
2008 Rosé

This dry rosé is a blend of Sangiovese and Viognier with notes of strawberry and melon. It is well balanced with a long, bright, acidic finish.
