RIP Sasha.

My new years also got off to a mixed start.  Found out on NYE that the fiancee of an old friend of mine passed away the night before. She had been dealing with breast cancer for a while, and even though it had matasticized to other areas, the docs had given her a fair amount of expected time...  The really sad thing is, the two of them were planning on marrying today, and were only waiting for a few more members of her family to arrive...

I have been through quite a bit of loss in my time, but I cannot fathom what Matt is going through right now...

How was it?

We didn't notice it around our parts.
Loud...

and shakey. ;D

It felt like something in the house had exploded

I'm glad it was minor and no one got hurt.

And how is that any different from a bad case of gas?

At 2.6 it wasn't very strong I guess.

The epicenter is only about 3-4 miles from here and it sure was loud.

Most other earthquakes we've had were slower and without the boom. It really sounded and felt more like an explosion, to me anyway.

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

It's possible.

I've lived here for over 20 years and we've had more earthquakes in the last few months than in all the previous years.

Hats here...get yer tinfoil hats. ;D

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

No earthquakes here in Texas, just a bunch of Mexicans shooting off fireworks from time to time.

fastwin

Are you sure those are fireworks? :P What goes up must come back down. [bang]
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.
