So...

I went down to ducvets today to set sag on the 996.

When I got there we talked about a few things to do to it and when they were done he went to fire it up...

the fuel pump whirred...and whirred...no start.

Just after he checked for spark and had none...Bruce Myers walks in...

a few pleasantries later Bruce says...the ecu is junk.

Killed my buzz...so to speak.

We tested the bike with an ecu from a 748...fired right up.

Borrowed an ecu from a friend about 50 miles away and located one to buy. It will meet me in MI.

I'm happy now.

I was a little concerned the mechanical gods were angry with me.

First I destruct a supposedly indestructible motor...

then the bike I buy to replace it won't run and I'm leaving in 2 days.

I had to take my 996 in yesterday, cause the coolant reservoir was leaking.

Dropped it off at 10AM.  Got a call today at 10AM letting me know it was ready to go  [thumbsup]

Of course, I was putting some more miles on the 999 today...I need to sell the bike, but it felt really good today  [bang] [bang]  like really make the beast with two backsing good  [bang] [bang] [bang]

Tomorrow...

I have the fairings off tidying up the ecu and gauge mounts...it's an ex race bike and everything was zip tied on.  [roll]

Have to bleed the rear brake and do some safety wiring.
