this is true. 999 can double its speed in a out three seconds. it makes it easier to say yes to the passing urge.

im not totally sold on getting rid of it. just giving it serious consideration

You'll do what you need to do, and it will be right...for you.

I'm not being contrary...just offering my thoughts.

Off to create hate and discontent in the neighborhood. ;D

Ning Peps. Cold and wet here in Seattle. I miss DC.  We are having a cold summer, way below normal temps.

Back to work I go. Have a day all.

remember, even though the dirtbike won't have the same speed at the top it's goit a pregnant doging bottom end.

also, with that suspension you can go straight hooligan and pass people on the shoulder even if it's not paved. so long as you have the correct tires. (and sometimes when you don't)
when you start kicking the ass end out and feel the evil coming out then you will know that you are the one making the descisions.

kinda like riding a much, much lighter version of your KTM that you don't care as much about dropping.

you thought i was here to help?
make the beast with two backs that. i'm here to prod others into doing things that i am either to scared to try or to convince them it's a good idea so that i'm not the only one doing it.

Because the machine doesn't make the decisions or twist the throttle.

Bad decisions can occur at any speed.

ML, my $0.02...keep the 999.  Take it to the track.  Do your speed demon thing *at the track*.  Ride prudently / defensively on the street.

Dude,  don't get rid of the Triple-9...

If ya don't want to ride it,  make a pedestal and put it on display.  Yours is a beautiful example.

Or, you can give it to me.  Or Carlos. Or SacDuc. Or... Or... Or...  ;)

You can have it if you want it.

I'll just need cash to make the exchange ;D

There's a good argument for the track.  The problem there is I'm lucky to do one a year at this point.  And now that I have the shop to work on, track days are pretty much out.

I also can't stomach having that much money into a bike I only ride at the track.  It's too much cash potential sitting there doing nothing.

Then just hold on to it.

In 10-15 years when the rest of us have used up, thrown down, or otherwise destroyed ours, yours will fetch a pretty penny.

Think of it as an investment. An investmen that keeps calling you with it's irresistible Siren's Song...  "Ride me... Ride me hard... You know you want to..."
