found out today that the one guy I work with whose "primary" job is moreso the music stuff he does, was heavily involved with that weird Lou Reed/Metallica thing.

I've only heard "The View" from that project/collaboration/aberration/whatever you want to call it.  "Weird" fits it pretty good.

My tolerance is running low.

How can you working solely as a mechanic for over five years and not know which way to turn something to loosen it?
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Well now, that depends entirely on what kind of threads it has...  I've got my graduate-level mechanics professor thoroughly stumped by a left-hand threaded puzzle.
