So I am coming up with yet another DR document that follows the standard of no standard.

easy....

-> Disaster happens

-> Call insurance...

-> Company to write check(s) for what insurance doesn't cover

-> if money left, then start over ...if not, then game over!!!

there you go...you're done now!

So far today I have managed to accomplish absolutely nothing.

And I am damn proud of that since I am protesting the lack of standardization in the disaster recovery documentation at this craphole.
I mean really...what organization of over 4500 employees lets each and every department come up with their own DR documents? I have seen flow charts, word docs, pdfs, spreadsheets complete with If/Then macros, hell...one department use an Access database.
When I asked for standardization, the PM on the upcoming disaster recovery test looked at me like I just told him that the building was made out of poop.

And it gets better...their DR test takes place onsite...with full access to all of the normal production systems.
I didn't even bother to point out that it was nigh on impossible to replicate the building getting wiped off the face of the earth when we were sitting inside it.

So I am coming up with yet another DR document that follows the standard of no standard.

Seriously, tell that shit hole to make the beast with two backs off and move here already!
