This is from Geico 7 Do's & Dont's When doing renovations.

1. Do buy a Steel door. An attractive door makes a good first impression.
   Don't buy a Fiberglass door potential buyers wont pay for the additional cost.


However I say that if you live where stuff rusts, such as near the coast, dont buy a steel door.

I'd have to enable it on my phone (or whateverthemake the beast with two backs) and then....

there'd need to be adequate mobile reception.

All my doors and windows are fiberglass.

They don't transmit cold...they don't sweat...and don't rust.

I don't give a rat's ass if some jamoke doesn't want to pay extra...

they're not for sale.

Since they figured out how to make them better and/or cheaper. (But sometimes worse)

A good Vinyl window is the Cats Pajamas. Especially if it slides open. They dont swell or stick and you dont have to paint them. Which means they dont get painted closed.

They started making windows out of alternative materials for quite a while.

First they clad wood with aluminum, but they rotted.

Then they used vinyl...but they sag.

Now they're using fiberglass.

They're rigid, don't rot, and have the benefit of no maintenance like wood.

All these materials came about when they started making houses tight, but inadequately ventilated.

Wood windows rot when they constantly have condensation forming on the glass.

My Vinyl windows have a decidedly Vinyl feel to them. I wonder if they are fiberglass reinforced like a 200 foot tape? They dont sag. Two of them have wood cladding on the inside.
