Fishers...

Weasels.

The door was closed. Whatever did it had to get in through a slat floor...boards 1" apart. Most of it has wire under the slats also, although there are some holes in the wire. Most likely a raccoon in this instance, although I don't know how it got in or out.

I think we're gonna take a break for the summer.

Maybe next spring we'll do it again. I certainly need to reinforce the castle.

We had a problem with a hole in the wire on the walls, and a raccoon got most of the flock in just a few nights. I fixed that, and then something killed one from underneath the pen.

I think this varmint got lucky plenty of times. I'd like to get lucky once and return the favor.
