Is anyone here a creator sole-proprietor restauranteur?

Isn't that where the expression "Die on that hill" came from?

I love restaurants and massively respect nearly all of them, but it strikes me as a nearly impossible business model.

Very wise when you see what's happened elsewhere IMHO.

The Barossa Valley is well worth a visit though, especially if you're into your red wine  [wine]

I have a friend that was just that.

He'd start a restaurant, make it popular, sell it, hold the paper, and when the new guy make the beast with two backsed it up would take it back and start the process all over.

His favorite saying about the business was 'The best way to make a small fortune in the restaurant business was to start with a large fortune.'

Yes, I'm quite fond of the Shiraz from that region.  Really like Kaesler, but is very hard to find in the states these days.

27 miles on the roadie tonight.  Burned a few calories.
