Which tractor did you use Davey?

Probably 10 inches of dense snow here.

I've got a Kubota B7100. Probably older than me.

Knee deep here... My old Ariens was barely up to the task...once it would run.

I spent a few hours on it this fall. Changed the oil, greased some stuff. Thought I was doing a good job. Remember, no good deed goes unpunished.

Wouldn't start with the pull rope, so I got a cord and used the electric. Started, and ran for about 20 seconds. Hmmm. Did that about 20 times, so I figured there was some ice in a fuel line. Got the heat gun and tried to warm things up. Kept doing the same thing, so I pulled the fuel line off, and fuel would barely drip out of the tank.

Off comes the tank, and into the shop I go. Poured off the fuel into a can...mostly...shop will smell like gas for years...and started shaking the tank to get the rest of the fuel out. Something is rattling...wtf? Finally got the offending item into view and reached in with my little hooked spring loaded grabby thing and pulled it out.

Apparently, one of the baffles in the cap fell off and was laying over the outlet. It's an aluminum cone shaped dealie with a tiny hole. It wouldn't pass enough fuel to let the thing run.

I'll be back out tomorrow to finish.

Ugh.  But glad to see it wasn't a pricy fix!



I was with my nephew most of the day today.  Got back to my dad's and smelled something burning.  He was asleep in a chair.  Apparently he thought hard boiled eggs - at some point during the 8 hours I was gone â€" sounded good to eat.  Likely within the hour of my arrival I'm guessing b/c otherwise I think the kitchen, at the very least, would have been toast. 

Eggs and the pot were torched but he still wanted to eat the eggs.   

Tomorrow, I'm checking smoke detectors, changing batteries, looking for (or buying) a fire extinguisher or two.

The way I feel right now, a $30K tractor with a 10K front mounted snow blower sounds make the beast with two backsing awesome.

I regret not buying a tractor with a loader.

I went with this one because it had a new clutch along with a really nice snowblower and a mower.

For some reason used loader setups cost the same as a new one

Smoke detectors have a 10 year lifespan, just FYI.

I swapped ours out earlier this year and did my mother in laws house too...

Also got a FedEx notification that a package from Enstrom Candies (https://www.enstrom.com/) is due to be delivered on Sunday.

No clue who they are from, as I didn't order it.
