that's a USB port DD
it has 2, one on each side.

this thing is sooo nice, i can type sooooo much faster  ;D

oooh, i see.

Thought it might be a dock for the iphone, so one could type on a full sized key board.   :-\

keyboards don't help a hunt and peck style.

if yes, i'm surprised by that... i thought you were tech for your age.  ;D

I have to admit, learning to type on a key board was probably the most useful course I took in HS. 

We learned on Apple IIe's.

they taught me which end of a screwdriver to hold...

not how to type.
