x2!  Joel, another thing to have him consider is that the AF has the highest quality/standard of living out of any branch.  Also, the AF as an institutional whole treats their people significantly better than any other branch.  More than anything though, make sure he goes into a job that will provide him with a high-level security clearance.  If nothing else, it will open many other doors for him down the line on the chance that he does not like what he originally came in to do. 

plus you arent' in the navy or a branch of it.  ;D

i always liked the army/air force side of things better. (dad was army, granddad was navy)
