It sounds like you got it pretty well figured.

Have to keep telling myself, keep it simple and the quality of what's going in will make it look good.
Like in the other undone room where I got yelled at for starting to design a ceiling with crazy angles and curves and she told me, "Just put lights up there and make the ceiling flat." I was going to copy some of those acoustic designs in the big theatres.

I just hooked in the same way with this dishwasher and the last one as the one that was here when we bought the place 15 1/2 yrs ago. Looks like crap but doesn't leak so I felt no need to change it.

I don't know but I dare not mess with it. When the dishwasher gets moved I'll just cut it where the rubber is and cap it off.

Some things are better left alone.  That would be one of them.

I want to get off the couch and make coffee before the wife gets up, but I have two dobermans laying on me.

It isn't easy to move 65lbs off one side and another 57 off the other.
