No.

It's a tapered collet assembly, like a bar-end.
Loosen the bolt a turn or two, tap it lightly, and it should release the taper and you can wiggle it out.

Just a word of caution:  my center strand sprung up while we were removing the front wheel once.
Also, it had to be modified to work around the Termi exhaust.  Ducati's own aftermarket parts don't always work well with each other.  Roll Eyes
