He definitely did have a good run.  I remember first listening to his mid day broadcast while running errands in the family car in the mid 60's.

From what I see, looks like none of us are getting out of here alive.

Used to hear him when I was staying with my grandmother when I was very young. Hearing his voice always brought back good memories. I hope my life is as full and long as his was.

Excellent broadcaster and journalist with a storied career. His level of professionalism and integrity is sadly an anachronism broadcasting today and he'll be missed.  :-[

I used to work in radio, and I sent a letter to him, and he replied along with an autographed photo, and a personal hand written note, really cool.  My old boss took a trip to Chicago 5 or 6 years ago, and he stopped by the studios to meet Paul Harvey, and Paul invited them to sit in while he did the midday news, and he sat and did it live to the satellite feed, no overdubs, my friend was impressed, seemed like a really genuine guy, he will be missed, the end of an era.
