Synthetic Oil- yes or no?

yes worth it

my jeep has 225,000 miles on it only synthetic ...also walmart's own brand is good  a rebadge  of mobil 1

So those saying yes to synthetic.....why?



What's the non-anecdotal proof that it's better?



If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

You never read the oil thread on TOB?

George was one of them engineer types.

Not sure if it was posted here, as I was getting married when the sad news surfaced, but George CLS passed way due to complications from luekemia on 14 November 2008.

My understanding from George was that synthetics had much better lubricating properties that mineral oils.

Of course that is a very simple summary of what George said, but a good synopsis.

Georges info convinced me.  Synthetics are purpose built from the ground up to do a specific job so it seems logical you'd have a better product.  While I don't have a dino oil test to compare it to,  I had a sample of Amsoil analyzed after 3000 miles in the Duc.  It was basically still new with the exception of silica which George felt is the result of my K+N air filter.

I can send you the analysis if you want.   ;D
