Matty,

I got to test ride the 848 on the track.....a lot of fun.

I could never understand how people could have a Ducati superbike as their one and only bike but after a week and around 1,000 klms on the 999S, I could easily get used to it. Did about 300klms today and feel fine.

I think the 848 is a great option for you.

Wow  Shocked how did you get to test ride on the track?
Would love to have that chance, cause test riding round Concord ain't much fun.
848 is very attractive, but I'm thinking it might be a 2nd trackie next year sometime.
Especially that they are 20k and under now, another 12 mths and I might even find one at $16-17k....

The guys from Penrith Ducati had one. It was the stage where I was seriously considering one and they let people who were on the market test it. If you want to test ride one properly, go to Penrith and they will look after you.

Spider, apart from the more extreme riding position it is easier to ride than my 916 Monster. In traffic the Monster overheats and splatters and stalls constantly. There fans come on far too late. I need to install a manual switch.

The 999S is fine but I wouldn't recommend it for commuting.

yeah I've seen them at the track a few times and spoken to the dealer principal at The Monster Party.
He did seem really cool and invited me out to ride anything they have on the floor.
