I have two movados. They are great watches. I also have an Orvis that is great as well.
Why do roaches always die on their back?

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.

Most Beitlings are fine time pieces (I own an Automatic Chronometer w, MOP face ). Breiling makes some timepieces for upwards of $100,000.

If YOU think they are worth the $$$ , then they are.

When I look at my Invicta Subaqua Noma 111 w, the Valjoux 7751 kalibre movement , to me it is every bit as well made as my Breitling or Rolex Sub Mariner.   Dolph    :)

+1.  The invicta is another watch I've been eyeing as well.  I don't know much about them, but the display case appeals to my mechanical side for sure.  Looks like a lot of watch for the $$$ as well.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

LOL.  I've gone through quite a few sacrifices over the past 5 years to get where I am, and it isn't an easy business to say the least.  I don't expect those not in the business to understand, but I'm sure everyone here has knuckled down before  [thumbsup] [drink] [beer]

Rewarding yourself for good work is a great thing to do.  If you have the means, then do it....no matter what the scale.  (New M5, steak dinner, new pair of shoes, etc..)  [beer] [beer]

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

ALL Breitlings are COSC certified chronometers, as are (most?) Omega SMPs, and most Rolexes. All are worth the money, if nice Swiss mechanical watches is your bag.

The Breitlings and Omegas generally use Swiss ETA 2824-2 chronometer-grade mechanical movements. Rolex uses their own movement.

What do all you watch geeks think about Tissot?

I don't know anything about them, other than there are a couple cool looking ones in the "Nicky Hayden collection".   ;D

Also...how about Breil?

[thumbsup] on the T-Touch. I've had mine for 5 yrs or so. Pay the extra for the titanium, it's too heavy otherwise.

Personally, I try not to wear anything people would be willing to stab me for.

That and having a really nice watch is yet another thing to worry about misplacing.

I have an ancient gold and platinum pocket watch that was appraised for a rediculous amount of money.

I doubt I'll ever wear it.

I miss my watch, I'm tired of pulling out my phone to check the time. I looked twice today at my bare wrist. :( I had been wearing a Seiko, but I went to set it back an hour last November and I couldn't push the pin back in. Thinking I had jammed it I tried to pull it back out, and the whole pin pulled out.  :-[

I had a Skagen that was just about perfect. It was super thin, super light and had a small face. I practically couldn't tell it was on. Too bad the ticking would drive me crazy at night, even from across the room, it had to go.

PS - www.worldofwatches.com has some killer deals on it all the time.  After buying my frist three from jewelers i noticed the mark up and went electronic for my watch purchasing sickness.

+!.  Reputable site.  I bought my first Tag Link from them.  Also, check www.Prestigetime.com and www.Overstock.com.

I've always been amazed how a many of the swiss watch makers use the same movements.  For example most Tag and Omega movements are either made by or based off of ETA movements.  It's hard to claim that one is less reliable than the other.

Swatch bought ETA a long while back, so all of our Swiss movements (with the exception of the Rollies, JLC, and other super high-enders) are made by a company that became famous for super cheap ugly 80's plastic watches with multi-colored nylon wristbands.  Oris does use an ETA base, but mods and completes it to its own specs.  Kind of like us Monster lovers...  [moto]
