that sucks you may have received the wrong kit, but thank jebus it all worked out. i have the 2.5 kit on order with monster parts and i am hoping it all works out. after i read this post about the 3.5 kit i was getting worried about my decision. im sure it will still take some adjusting to get it all right, but now im in the "i can't wait" attitude again.
If all is according to Murphy's law - you'll get the 3.5" risers which I should have gotten. Back and forth
"Can't wait" is my mood of the day also - when I realised it's probably going to work out after all. I could have been pissed off, but I'm looking at the bright side of things today. Besides, it's not possible to get angry at MonsterParts - Jeff's service is always above and beyond, so he has more than enough good will. Besides, there are still loads of snow here, so I'm in no hurry.

Double checking when my dealer can get it done.
Dealer?
You gotta start learning how to wrench on your own bike at some point.
Go get some tools, get some books, read the internet,... Hell, take a class if you have to. It's not that hard.
Maintenance stuff like valves or engine work, sure I understand.
There's nothing like standing back after you're done, and saying "yup,...I did that myself".

I know it sounds strange to have my dealer measure it for me
What you didn't know is that my bike is in storage a two hour drive away from me. If it is of importance, they don't charge me for minor stuff like this.
Also, I'm tired of people looking down on those of us who are not wrenching our own bikes. I do minor stuff, like bolt ons, fabbed my custom beer tray, installed alarm a.s.o. Everyone need help at some point - I don't mind needing more help than a few others. It's my first year in a while with an interesting bike and I'm learning as I go - it just takes time.
If I read your post with an open mind, I think you mean well. The feeling of having done something "difficult" myself is great, you're absolutely right.
The level of "difficult" is very different for any one individual, that's all.

I see it this way with work I do on my bike. If I do it, I know it's done the way i want it done. Not the way I hope someone I'm paying is going to do it.
It's very possible for someone you are paying to do the work correct, but not to your liking. For example, bar angle, bar sweep in your case. If you did the work yourself and you didn't like it, you at least have the ability to make it right at that point.
Also, if you notice something is wrong, like with wrong parts (e.g. risers), you can stop to make sure everything it correct before proceeding with the installation.
Working on your own bike also gives you the opportunity to learn about how and why the manufacturer built these things the way they did (whether it be good or bad).

or you have the $$$, but rather use it on other mods rather than labor costs.

did monsterparts give you guys a tracking number or did they just show up? if the latter, about how long from order to delivery? im being lazy, i should email jeff at monsterparts
i ordered em thursday last week, but they were out of stock atm and waiting on the next shipment which should have been there any day. if they're not here friday i shoot him an email then and see what he knows. im not in any "dire need", just a "i want to do this need"

They seem to be my height exactly - by now I'm pretty sure I don't have the 3.5".
How tall are yours - from top to bottom?

I'm in Europe and they showed up in my country after 4 days. MonsterParts might be waiting for new stock from Swatt (no tracking # means not shipped, I guess)

Are you sure? Not 4"?
I was told the 3.5" rise model is 5" top to bottom - which should put yours at 4".
