You could always go with a shortie.
Very nice bike!
I'm liking the idea of the shorty hugger.....

Sorry for this partial thread-jacking, but someone mentioned it earlier and this photo makes it clear. Our bikes look awesome with the belt covers removed. What are the real risks of running like this?

Lots of people run without them. You run an increased risk of damaging your belt. There have been people who have seen it but only a couple and no one on here has had it happen I don't think. If you are in an accident, there is an increased chance of damage to the belts, maybe causing something nasty to happen. Not to say that covers would save all types of crashes.
If you like it, do it I say.

haha, but in a more serious note, I'm a big fan of the shortie cf hugger. Gotta protect the shock.
Note: The less tail and less hugger you have, the more swampass you get when you go through a puddle.
I'm also a big proponent of removing any of the black plasticy stuff and replacing it with carbon where possible. Its looks better over time, less prone to scratching up and/or staining, and ever so slightly lighter. I'm doing the under-tail/underseat tray right now.
Too bad I am not quite capable of making my own CF airbox (yet) so its going to either stay plastic for now or be removed like kopfjager's in favor of pods.

I hated the look of the plastic one so I took it off
But the downside of living close to the beach was all the sand that collected around the shock and linkages every time I rode so not being able to find a shorty under $2frickenzillion
sooooo
I made my own
I used the ugly plastic one as a template
Cut it down until i was happy with the shape , which took some time as it is not symetrical.
Fine sanded it then used a vacum bag table that my mate uses to make water housings for camera's in the surfboard factory he works at.
I used PU resin CF and finnished with some 4 ounce cloth then filler resin and clear spray rather than epoxy as it is easier to work with and strength isnt an issue .
Here are some pics of the result

I like how that came out dezmonster. Very cool and that fact that it's custom makes it even cooler.
