Anyone ever bought from any of the different carbon sellers on Ebay?
I do love the DP stuff but can't seem to afford it any more

Caveat emptor.
You could be the guinea pig and report back.
You never know, the pieces could be nice.

There's cheap Chinese wet layup carbon and there's the pricey pre-preg from DP and Shift-Tech. The Chinese carbon mostly looks ok but may have fitment and alignment variation from piece to piece. This is due to lack of standardized quality control. For the Monza style pan for example, there may be more than one facility that produces the same piece which increases the variation. At least that's my theory. DP stuff usually is quality and always looks good and it fits. I have an assumed Chinese bellypan that was less expensive and had fitment bugs but looks pretty good now that I got it sorted. I had to trim it in an area where it should not have needed a trim, also one of the bolt holes was nowhere near being in the right spot. I have a DP carbon front fender that looks slightly better and fits perfectly. Nobody is going to look at it with a magnifying glass anyway. One thing to think about is the longevity of the finish. Chepaer pieces might fade or yellow quicker.

Ive spoken with two different eBay companies about custom carbon pieces, both of which are American. One is Slingshot Racing who make billet accessories and a few different carbon items for Ducati's and other makes. The other was MDL who is strictly carbon. Both of there products, from the pictures I have seen appear to be pretty decent material. I do agree that the fitment probably won't be the same as a Ducati Performance pieces, but price difference is a factor.

I bought a carbon fiber belly panel($80), front fender($70), intake panels($90) from seller: mdi-carbonfiber. all for alot less than you can get at monster parts. The quality is great and you cant beat the price. As with anything check the sellers feedback.

I've purchased from Carbonworld, Carbonperformance, O2Carbon, and Track-and-Race-Products-Limited on ebay. Of these I would say that Carbonworld had the best quality and customer support.

I have bought all my carbon stuff from Jeff at MonsterParts.com. I might find it a little cheaper on ebay, but I know that Jeff will back his stuff up and is more then happy to help with fitment issues resulting from all of the other aftermarket crap I have bolted, glued, ziptied, etc. on. To me the support and customer service is worth the extra cash.

I'm about to send a bunch of my hard earned to Jeff for a midpipe, peg adapters, and some carbon bits.
I've dealt with him on several occasions and he is definately a 5* guy running a 5* business.

FYI i ordered my pressure plate from slingshot racing and well the finish on it was no were near what was shown in the pic. and looks like a tarnished faded red. and obvious tooling marks left on the plate... It may have just been a bad piece that i received. but I know now I should have just saved my money and did it right the first time... just my $.02
oh and I dont mean to draw any business away from slingshot by saying this. I never took this up with them to see why it looked so bad and It could have very well slipped threw the cracks, which would be my luck haha.
