I will always have a soft spot for the classic monsters, be it 2 or 4 valve.  One suggestion though, take off the bracket that the silencers hand on and spray it matte black.  You would be surprised with how well it completely disappears when it gets shadowed out.

Great idea, thanks.  Unfortunately I don't have any place at present to work on her, but that should change in a few months.  She needs some TLC right now; detailing mostly, but also the ceramic coating on the headers is fading and flaking off near the exhaust ports.  Need to have them re-coated.

Oh, and thanks for all the appreciative comments.  Here are some another views:

Nordog, what kind of steering damper are you using?

Norris, do you like your bar end mirrors up or down... or both? Hope married life in CA is suiting you well. Think about you every time I go to my farm in Wood County. Hope all is well with you and Mrs. NorDog!! [thumbsup] Merry Christmas from the lone star state! [beer] Coming home any time soon?

Thanks my friend.  Fortunately, married live is bliss; Unfortunately, I won't be back to Texas until we can buy a place here, at which time I'll be back to get my HD and other worldly possessions.  We don't have any idea when that will be.  We're waiting on a rather large payday, that's way overdue, to use as our downpayment on a house.

I prefer the bar end mirrors in the "up" position.  Having them in the "down" position took some time to adjust to because I have to look down much more to actually use them.  The problem was that lane splitting here in LA caused me to clip too many car mirrors with the bar ends in the "up and out" position.  I first tried them in the "up and in" position but could only see my arms reflected in the mirrors; so it was "down and in".  Haven't clipped a car since the change.

Merry Christmas to you and the LSD gang!   [wine]

NorDog, good to hear from ya'! You probably know there was talk that the legislature in Austin was kicking around a TX lane splitting law. I am sure it's very useful in CA but even if the law were to pass here I figure it would be a good way to get shot in TX. [bang] The drivers here are so God awful anyway I wouldn't want to give them another reason to kill me. Even if the law is passed it doesn't do you any good if you were in the right when you're dead. It would take decades to educate the TX driving public of any new lane splitting laws. In the mean time the drivers would just lump lane splitters with all the squidly stunters.

The one time I rode through Europe years ago I loved the respect the cagers gave the riders. Took a bit to get used to all the bikes splitting lanes at stop lights and moving to the front of the pack. All the drivers expected you to. Riding through the Alps oogling at all the amazing scenery I would be content just to putt along behind the car or truck in front of me. It was funny, they'd get mad that you weren't passing them and would frantically wave you past. [laugh] [moto]

OK... end of major thread jack! Sorry, won't happen again. Back to DMF bike pics!! [thumbsup]

That's a really good looking scooter! [thumbsup] Like the Akra pipes, nice to see something other than Termis... not that there's anything wrong with that. ;D
