There are some beautiful bikes here! Here's my 2000 M966Sie. Motor is by MBP Ducati and puts out +95RwHP, 70lb/ft torque. Ohlins rear, Showa/Ohlins front. BSTs and some brake mods. Lots of other stuff. This project is finally done. Markus. Very nice. Well built.

That's part of the beauty of the 696. No hack saw required. The tail unbolts.
So there really is no excuse to be sporting that excess tail then, is there?

Finally somebody with some decent picture of the 696 dark. Bonus points for taking the mirrors off and adding the bar end mirros..... and adding the carbon termis. Thats almosty exactly how mine will look too. Better lose some of that plastic in the back though.

Hey, thanks guys. DP is offering a tail-chop kit for this bike, nice bolt-on setup. I'm going to order that soon, don't know why I didn't do it from the start. I'm also thinking about trying to lower the Gauges and put a dual headlight up front. I really think that duals give a bike more personality (aka "eyes) Any opinions? Suggestions for duals?

Just got back from a little photo shoot... These are hot off the presses.
Try photobucket. These images take forever to load and it makes the page jump around while reading the other posts.

Markus. Very nice. Well built. Thanks! It's a pretty subtle looking bike which is what I was after. Just about every part of it has been in some way altered and (in my opinion, anyway) improved. The best part is that it works really really well.... total rocket with the 966 motor and BSTs! Guy Martin of MBP is a wizard with Duc motors and he gets a big from me. The motor puts out roughly 98Hp at the rear wheel with a full open exhaust but I run dB killers which undermines the power a wee bit. Keeps the neighbours happier tho. I bought the bike stock with under 4k miles in 2004 and it's about to turn over 19k. Until last year the closest Ducati dealership was over 10 hours drive away so I learned to do the required maintenance on it with the generous help of ToB. Been a fun project building it up in the winters and riding it during the summers. ______________________________ The new 696 looks super cool with those Termis. They really should be a mandatory mod IMO. +1 on blacking out the rearsets... but then I'm partial to the stealth look.

Sorry about that... I was hosting them all off of my home server for a bit, but just signed up for a flickr account. Should be better now.

Just got back from a little photo shoot... These are hot off the presses. Everytime I see the 696 I change my opinion on the looks. Those pictures really do it justice. Really looks sharp. So glad they have "Dark" as a color option.
