gOoIe B,

Cool bike...Me like colour scheme

I appreciate your opinion.  I'm still undecided as to whether I should get the front wheel powdered red, or if I should stick a red stripe on the front wheel and a black stripe on the rear wheel.  If I was worth a damn at graphic arts I could decide much more easily.

and like I mentioned earlier... she isn't done yet.  I've already made some changes since these pics were snapped.   Wink

Looks great! waytogo

IMO I like the idea of a black wheel stripe on the rear, but leaving the front all black.

IMO I like the idea of a black wheel stripe on the rear, but leaving the front all black.

The original idea was to generally make the front and top of the bike black, and the bottom and rear of the bike red.  The powdercoating has achieved much of that, but after putting it all together and staring at it for countless hours, I've got so many other ideas to further the progress.  I will probably end up replacing my fren tubo front brake lines with some black ones once I convert to SM bars or clip-ons, for instance...

I concur with markus but, I do think the red stripe on the front wheel would add that something you're looking...

After about a year of lurking and researching this site (thanks everyone!), I finally have enough tweaks to my 08 S2R1K to post here and call it my bike!  More to come of course...
Mods are mostly superficial stuff (still under warranty and paranoid) emissions canister removed, reflective wheel stripes, removed rear license plate/mud guard, added new bracket and led bolts on plate, oxford heated grips, ebay handlebar risers, custom (aka homemade) frame plugs, D2Moto frame sliders, Integrated tail light, cut down & painted rear fender/rear signals removed (idea “borrowed” from Stopintime's awesome Bike of the Moment pics), GSG belly pan from streetfighters inc (I like it, but I wouldn’t do it again – PITA & $$$), generic e-bay steering damper experiment (it works!), mounted below the bottom triple, and a streetfighter clutch cover.

Cam cover removal is easy, just make sure you re-torque your fasteners to spec on reassembly.

Thanks.  What is the torque specs btw?

I'm liking what you've done.  At first I thought the belly pan was a bit large but it looks good and hides the udder nicely.

Here are the photos of the new, cut and painted beer tray.  I added some black frame plugs after the photos were taken.

Now you just need to plug the frame to finish it off.

You should show another angle to show off the stripe.
