Okay, I've finally seen a "new Monster" that I like.  That I really like.  The pipes really help.

Picked up the bike in March and after a few  ;D modifications, I can finally say I am done (for now)

Agreed! You've chosen the colors tactfully and the boomtubes really open everything up.

+1 One of the few examples of the new Monster that really catches your attention by the lack of "flash" ...

They might help the look (questionable) but they sure don't help the HP.
Woohoohoohoo! Two personal records! For breath holding and number of sharks shot in the face.

Without dyno results on the newer well baffled Boomtubes, I think the HP conclusion is questionable.  I have not taken mine in for a dyno run, but in terms of feel, the bike is much improved.  The low end, 3k-4k is a lot smoother.  Before getting the exhaust I was pretty much sold on some sort of ECU solution for the low end jitter, but after riding the bike around for the past few weeks, I no longer see a need.  I have also not noticed any low end power loss which is a typical sign of a lack of back pressure.

Of course, none of this has anything to do with peak HP.  I really cannot speak to whether there was an improvement there, but given my other observations, I would be surprised if it was hurt.  Besides, I am much more interested in a more usable power curve that increasing peak HP a couple percent.

And did I mention I think they look cool?  ;D

The wind shield is a Puig.  It comes just tinted, but when I installed it I noticed that it reflected the light from the headlight right into my eyes.  I guess the slightly tilted headlight of the new monsters has a bit of light reflected pretty much straight up.  So I ended up lining the inside of the screen with black Plasti Dip.  The opaque, non-glossy surface on the underside of the screen cuts the reflected light quite a bit.  It now looks opaque and still glossy when you look at the top.

Great looking bike!   [thumbsup]

I like several things you've done.  I also like the darker grey engine paint better than the light gray on my bike.

I love that wind screen.  It gives the bike a more classic monster look then when you see the rest its like.  "Hello! new Monster here!"

Good find  [beer]

Mate, if we could get those in Australia ... I think I would want one alongside our earlier model:

To get this thread, back to bikes ... it has a smaller engine capacity (500cc) and substantially less power (approx. 18hp) than any of our Ducatis ;D [laugh]

Maybe one more.
This pic shows my 1100S and my wife's 500R.
We intend to restore it soon and use it as an almost daily commuter.

Nice Fiats!
Mine is a 1970 Fiat 500L (L for Luxury) with an engine from a 126, 600cc with 23HP and 29ftlbs of torque!
It is fun, gets far too much attention and my family of 4 can even fit into it (until the kids grow up).  We use ours for a daily driver with thoughts of restoring one day.
