Agreed. I use bendable wire to model the exact path of what I want, go through the fittings diagrams on the website, and then call Spiegler to place the order so I can be as "exact" as possible - nothing lost in communication via poor word choice when I type it in, etc.

Hahaha. I half agreed with you when I saw it first come out too. But the other half saw the perfect lines. Only problem was they used wrong parts to accentuate those lines. Thanks for the compliment. Now that I got the visuals down, it's time to think about performance

How loud are those boomtubes over say, baffle-less Termis or arrows?

1098 forks and 4-pad radial brembos with 999 10-spoke Marchesinis, and FrenTubo brake lines.

Nicely setup, but those are 848 forks.


RCA, network, or other cabling makes it easy to get the length down you need.  I'd suggest using a little line retainer off a SBK if you can find one.  It will help collect the extra hose while allowing for fork movement.

I believe you are correct, sir, but there having passed 2 years and some change since I won them in an eBay auction, the details are a bit hazy. I'll edit my previous post for accuracy.

I'm not particularly worried about it.

As you can probably tell (and other have so graciously pointed out), the lines were ordered blind for a Sport 1000 without regard to the proper fitting angles. At full fork extension (with the bike on an under-triple front stand) there's still plenty of slack. While it's hard to see in the photo, the lines/fittings are angled out slightly so that as the forks compress, the lines bow out away from, well, everything.

Were I to do it again, I'd mock everything up before phoning in an order. That's kind of hard to do when you're on a giant boat off the coast of Pakistan while your bike is in a storage unit outside of Charleston, SC.

Yes, they are. I have "medium" baffles and it's still obnoxious. I take extra time to make sure my ear plugs are in and seated well.

Definitely 848 forks - 1098/1198 forks have DLC coated sliders.

Correct brake lines would cost a small fraction of the net expenditure for the front end - maybe $150-200 on the high end from Spiegler.  Much less than repairing what happens if one of the bowed out lines snags something (like another bike) while doing the ungainly parking-lot speed maneuvers. Something to consider.

Thank you. The stock horns fit the image, but the output is a polite little "meep," which is entirely inadequate.

90% of the times that I've used my horn, it was to tell someone in a cage that I didn't appreciate them doing something reckless or irresponsible or grossly inconsiderate behind the wheel. I'm pretty sure my stock horns weren't even audible over their stereo. These make the beast with two backsers, however, get the job done. I am willing to put up with a pair of giant red horns on the front of my bike for that added safety/comfort feature.

I watched Tron today, and this tail light looks the same.  I would also love to see an action shot of what it looks like.  Could be a valuable mod you could sell.

Which is pretty much what I was going for, but without paying $400-600 for something that cost me $75 in LEDs and a couple of days fabbing and waiting for paint to dry.
