Hello all -

My name is Kevin, I'm out in South Riding - I've probably met a few of you at DucPond, but I'm pretty new to the board.

So, when do the rides start?  When does Rhodeside pick up?  Whose garage has the most stuff in it?  I'm not really sure what questions to ask - but I do want to ride with some of you guys and get some pointers in person.  As cool as this board is - eventually I'm gonna need to branch out and rub elbows.

Thanks,

Kevin

Rides start when you get on the bike.   ;D
If you mean group things - it varies.  CAM isn't an official club, so there's no schedule.  People will organize stuff as they see fit - also you'll see 'anyone want to go for a ride' posts pop up.  Of course if there's something you want to do or get help with - just post up.

If you're looking for something a little more organized DC is home to the Mid Atlantic Ducati club - an official DOC (Desmo Owners Club) http://www.mad-ducati.com/ They do organized rides on a regular schedule and also do some special events like ogranizing track days

Rhodeside never really stops.  During the crappy winter months attendance is a lot slimmer.  I know I haven't been much recently...

Gragare?  Zooom. since I had to help move it... but it's all crap.  As far as getting a hand with your bike - again post up.  You'll find CAMs a pretty generous bunch when lending a wrench.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

Welcome!

You live on the edge of some of the greatest riding in the area.  I live in Purcellville, no too far from South Riding.  I'm up for a ride almost any weekend.  There are a couple other riders in the area who, I'm sure, will post up for rides soon.

Hi Kevin,

I live up in Leesburg and work down in Chantilly so I pass by South Riding on my commute. Some good roads not too far from there if you know where to look  ;D

The MAD owners club does do regular rides but they mostly start in Germantown, MD. Not a big deal, it just means getting on the road a bit earlier to make it there. One of the alternate ride starting points listed on the MAD site is the Panera Bread in Leesburg. This is right around the corner from my house and I plan on organizing a few rides this year that will leave from there.
