I used to drink when I had to run the vertical turret lathe. It was the only way the thing wouldn't scare me.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

There was one of those with a 48" table at the fab shop I worked at.

Only one guy ran it...

and he was drunk all the time. ;D

Thing had no guards-hot chips flew everywhere-I'd walk on them, they'd melt into my boot soles, then I'd have essentially metal skates on my feet while knackered near the heavy running machinery. What fun.

One of my customers moved into a huge building and two VTL's came with it.

The big one has a 120" table!

It's a monster.  You could face the roof off a Volkswagon ;D
