try just a last name search with your city. for some reason it was not working when i put in first name. i put the last name and scrolled through the list.

nope.... I saw a story on the news  yesterday about how Cali has all this unclaimed money so I followed the links to the state controllers website and poked around.

Iowa has the Great Iowa Treasure Hunt.

Basically, it is a catch all for unclaimed things such as frozen property, overpaid taxes, inheritances that were seized if the estate had outstanding tax debt and what was left over after it was paid off etc.

They publish the names twice a year in the paper.
