Gravel rashed froo froo white is the fastest color

« on: March 19, 2009, 07:56:00 AM »

Wife has a med conference and I'm coming in for the tail end of it (fnaaar).

Will have three-year-old in tow.

Staying downtown at Embassy Suites at harbor.

So....anywhere we absolutely have to go eat?  Looking for best food locally.   We'll have a car.

Zoo is on the list as the Little One looooves zoos.

What else should we do?

If you'll have a day to yourself, rent a Duc and ride Palomar

2000 996XU (extra ugly) for track days - BST carbon wheels, Ohlins shock, reworked fork, FBF exhaust, and a bunch of megacycle rocker arms. The rest of it is junk - Hey, I'm just happy that it runs...

San Diego wild animal park... Isn't Sea World down there too? I forget, is the wild animal park different from the zoo?  Tongue

-Zoo is good but Sea World is the best "park" in California bar none. (IMO)
-Stay away from Mexico, not safe right now.
-Con wife into watching kid one day so you can sneak off for a Palomar run. I bet there is a bike to be borrowed somewhere down there.
-Can't comment on the food, I'll leave that to a SD local.
-Petco Field is a great place to catch a ballgame.

The zoo is very hilly, be prepared for some serious walking.
It *is* a very good zoo.  Smiley
