the Brunette, a couple of friends and I were sitting around eating fajitas and one of said friends starts choking and I mean choking. this mother make the beast with two backser was dieing. so I rushed to him and performed the Heimlich and after 3-4 attempts his bite of steak came up. I've had the training a couple of different times but this was the first time I've had to use it, scary shit man. just needed to say it out loud.

If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

I just had my re-cert month ago.  The 250lb. fireman who was teaching the class was talking about performing CPR and how he's broken several ribs doing compressions.   You hear 'em snap but you just gotta keep on going!    [puke]

Abdominal thrusts, if done correctly will not break ribs.  The fist, with the other hand over it, should be just right above the navel.  No rib should be touched.

I thought the fireman was referring to broken ribs during cpr

Airborne

My mother performed the heimlich on some woman while she was watching one of my hockey games. I don't think she had any formal training, this was back when the show "Rescue 9-1-1" was big many years ago. I think she learned it from watching so many episodes. Scary to think what would happen if no one else was around.

Yes, the fireman was talking about breaking ribs doing compressions during CPR.

Which is now 30 compressions/2 breaths (soon to be 100/2?!).

The wiki comment was directed at CB.

CB was saying that broken ribs occured during Heimlich maneuver.  If done correctly with ab thrusts..ribs won't get broken.  But..since everyone isn't a trained expert like Czaja..one might do what he can to try and help someone choking and accidently break a rib.

MaxPower

I had a friend do the same for me.  We were drunk and finding all kinds of good stuff to deep fry, I was nearly bested by a piece of deep fried turkey.

Why do roaches always die on their back?

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.
