RIP OPD officers.  I tested with them in 1991.  I was in college and a professor convinced me to stay in school.  I lived in east Oakland for a few years.  Not a nice place then, or now.

Crappy day indeed.  Condolences to family and friends of the three LEOs.  A speedy and complete recovery for the injured officer.

Got Duc

Why do roaches always die on their back?

That because the survivors flip them over to steal their sneakers and wallets.

cyrus buelton

damn, that sucks.

Be careful out there to all our LEO members

That sucks.  :'(

I lived in Oakland for 2 years (Lake Meritt/Grand Avenue area). It was nice there...not so much (at all) in east Oakland.

If you drive the nicest car in the neighborhood, work in a cash business, and don't pay taxes, you're either a preacher or a drug dealer...

Uh, methinks this isn't part of the standard "cop-talk" that is mentioned in the Board Guidelines.  [leo] Those threads have started "got another ticket and i'm here to whine about it" etc.

There's no need to cite the rules when the posts are condolences and well-wishers.

That is true. The job is very dangerous, and probably much more so where this tragedy occurred than it is in my town.

Just because the danger exists doesn't make the fact that it occurred less tragic.

..and please look below.

ato memphis has the spirit of the rule correctly.
"Once you accept that a child on the autistic spectrum experiences the world in
a completely different way than you, you will be open to understand how that
 perspective
is even more amazing than yours."

The 4th officer has died also.  2 were motorcycle cops.  RIP fellow riders.
