price check - opinions....

hey - so just looking for some feedback....

my dealer offered me a 2008 1098s for 17k....looks like a smokin deal to me....or should i hold out for an 1198....1198s is just too much to justify...

also - they offered 6500 for my 07 s2r800....i have a full termi system on there....is it worth pulling th pipes off and selling them seperately...or would the cost of having them exchange the pipes offset any gain i would make?

So you'd be OTD for 10,500? Does that include tax and delivery charges?
Do you like the riding position of the 1098S as much as the S2R you have now?
Do you own the S2R free and clear?
Do you have the stock cans for the S2R, or would you have to buy?
Can you afford the payments? Is your job secure?
What's the insurance jump?

I PAID $7200 for my _06_ S2R800 from a DEALER (used, obviously).
Sounds like a pretty decent trade in value to me.
Mine did not have Termis though.

it does include delivery not tax
the riding position is not bad - it certainly wont bother me
i do own it
i have the stock cans
cash paid - my job is 100% secure
not sure-  i am assuming my insurance will double

the question i guess is more of is the 1098s a good deal....

Trade in price seems fair, especially for an 800. Unless their price is contingent on the cans staying attached (which they might be assuming in the offer price), take them off for sure.
