Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving in a pretty pristine body, but rather to come in sliding sideways all used up screaming F*CK YEAH WHAT A RDIE!!

They keep popping into my head

Liquid Sky, another cult classic by Slava Tsukerman. Get ready for strange NYC SiFi androgyny.

The Station Agent. Haven't seen it yet but the description on Netflix got me interested.

Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, 1983. David Bowie. Can't quite remember it but I think it made a dent.

Bagdad Cafe'. One of those films that makes you remember Jack Palace.

It's like I keep saying:  Those who would sacrifice a free range session for a giant beer, deserve neither free range time nor a giant beer.

Think things like Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch

Might not be your cup of tea if you're at all a homophobe, awesome soundtrack. Imagine a cross between 'Rocky Horror' and 'This Is Spinal Tap' and you're getting close.

And, yes, Killer Klowns is a great movie - I own it on DVD.  :)

Tank starring James Garner

Good flick. I also enjoyed "Taps", the early Tom Cruise flick.

Maybe too mainstream for this thread . . .  "The long kiss goodnight" Geena Davis, Samuel L. Jackson
Geena Davis as an amnesiac hit(wo)man.

Hey maybe someone here can come up with the title to this movie I can't get out of my head. It was a post-nuclear- apocolypse film about a young boy and a telepathic or talking dog. Maybe from the '70s.
Any idea?

Great movie. Not surprised Harlan Ellison wrote the seminal story.

Buckethead

Brotherhood of the Wolf. French, with English subtitles. Best martial arts flick you'll see this year.

Attack the Gas Station. A group of Korean misfits decide to rob the same gas station for the second night in a row. This time, they start to (after taking hostages) run the business. In doing so, the set the stage for each of them to realize their inner-most dreams. Sounds ghey, but is TOTALLY awesome.

The Score. Master thief Robert De Nero teams up with mentally-handicapped (in the movie) Ed Norton and criminal fixer Marlon Brando. Watch it and remember why you never, ever, EVER, want to cross De Niro. As if you needed a reason. Also contains the greatest safe-crack in history.

Boondock Saints. Because you've always wanted to be a vigilante. Don't lie.

True Romance. Quentin Tarantino's take on a "Romance." Stars everyone famous, from James Gandolfini to Christopher Walken to Christian Slater to Brad Pitt. And no, I'm not exaggerating.

I love weird, oddball movies.

Also, anyone who hasn't should watch Ravenous for a real taste of cannibalism.  [evil]

I really liked Alex Cox's film Repo Man, so I checked out his lesser known film Walker. It's about William Walker - an American ex-pat filibusterer who went to Nicaragua, led a coup and made himself president only to turn it into a slave republic (before the Civil War). It's a really interesting film because it's intentionally anachronistic (and OVERTLY political).

Features: Ed Harris, Joe Strummer (minor role). Score by Joe Strummer.

If you don't mind animated stuff, check out Perfect Blue. It's a Japanese film about a pop singer who tries to change her image and be taken seriously. Her fanbase object. It's bloody and confusing as the main character struggles to keep her sanity while those close to her are horrifically murdered.

Features: it's a cartoon
