Any EZ way to change the color of spring?

Not sure why they'd put a yellow spring on there, but would like to change the color of it.  Is painting it an option?  Anything I can do to it without removing it?  I know, prob dumb questions..but hey   lol

you pretty much have to take the spring off, I painted mine red using Rustoleum Industrial paint from Lowes and it holds up really well.  I didn't really do any prep work at all other than cleaning the spring.  That paint flexes with the spring and hasn't even attempted to chip or crack.  Only issue I had was I used the spring compressors without letting the paint dry 100% and it left a couple small impressions in the paint.

Awesome!  Thank you so much for your post and great pic!!!  Is it difficult to remove?  Already on phone w/a guy who has taken these things apart.  I've the black/silver s21000....thinking of painting it black....wattya think?

someone suggested to just change the spring (progressive?) instead, which isn't a bad idea.  I'm 180lbs and 2up ride with the gf so a stiffer spring wouldnt be a bad idea.  I believe it's softly sprung as it is....  I've heard Progressive has a spring for our bike?

To change the color, you have to take the spring off the shock.

When reassembling, wrap the spring coils in a piece of tubing with a lengthwise cut in it to protect the new finish from the spring compressor.
