Hey, good to see you SpeedDog!  Did I really blow it by not adding "spoiler alert" to a

non motorcycle event?  It wont be televised, VeloNews is probably not on the big

radar around here, or is it?????

Yes, you are correct, Taylor is the son of Davis Phinney (Cash Register) and Connie Carpenter Gold Medal Road Champion 1984 Olympics held in SoCal.  So young is Taylor, and very talented--he can't help it, he has "genetics"  [cheeky]

Seriously, when i am 800years old i want to rock like Lemmy! it is a religion that requires lots of determination, drugs, and Marshall stacks.

How cool!  I was a huge Davis Phinney fan (not to mention noticing Connie Carpenter!) back when I was first getting interested in bike racing. Somewhere around here, I have a pink & Hawaiian print Coors Classic cap that he signed for me...

[semi related humorous thread jack]

In highschool I wrestled with kid whose father was an olympic gold medalist, world champion, and 2 time russian national champion in freestyle wrestling.  His mother was a olympic gold medalist in track and field 1500m run I think.  The kid was terrible; uncoordinated, weak and just not very good at all.  After the first day of practice we were convinced he was switched at birth.  He was an only child too.
