I went and did it. I sold my 696 and put a deposit on a white 1100s. I wish I could swap the tank covers and rear seat cowl for my dark 696 ones but the guy who bought it likes that non color too. I'll see if i can live with it otherwise Ill switch it to dark. I wish the rims where black too. The Hyper Motard black fordged rims  would be perfect.  I want to order the slip on Termi kit before I go pick it up. Ill need to buy a tail chop kit aswell. Has anyone experience with the carbon parts from Monsterparts? They sure are cheaper than Ducatis'.
They only reason i would sell my 696 would be to get the 11 and I did. So long young friend. I hope your next owner treats you as good as I.

I went in today to check on the 1100 I ordered and to try on a new helmet.  The dealer told me only two bikes were being delivered from the factory.  Mine, and some other bike.  Seems like sales have slowed down - which makes it a perfect time to buy.

I debated the Termi kit but I think I'll get it added at my 600 mile tune up.  Too much $$$ at one time makes my wife freak.

Congrats! The only reason I'd sell my 696 would be for a 1100 also. Probably a good thing the black 1100 isn't the same color scheme as as the 696 or i might have had to do it. I think there was a Ducati dealer near or in LA who put those black hyper motard rims on the bike for the dealer competition.

I had to sell two bikes to be able to get the 1100. I also have an 02 VFR800, a great bike, that has to go in order to slip this by the wife. The dealer is giving me a good trade towards the 11. The guy who bought my 696 is a man of taiste and he fell for the black beast at first glance. The deal was sealed the minute I fired it up and the big thumps were hitting him in his chest. I'm still working in the steel industry but the hammer could fall any time. I owe not a dime for anything so I decided to pull the trigger because as it was said, it is a buyers market right now.  So I attempt to get an insurance quote and my current provider won't in sure the 1100. They will insure thought a KTM 990 SM, makes sense doesnt it? So I call around and the others dont have the bike in their database.

^ try Foremost, they got a deal with Ducati and list the bikes as one category lower than they really are.. I got 3 times cheaper quote than Progressive on my 1100S

Yes they would.

As would the bike itself compared to the new Monsters.

Why settle for just the rims?

At 23...I'm in the prime of high insurance rates, and I pay $690 a year for full everything on my 1100s...that includes $3500 in accessories.  I definitely recommend calling ducatiforemost.
M696 - sold, M1100s - gold Speedy kukri pressure plate, black Speedy halflife cover, Pazzo shorty racing levers, 14 tooth front, CRG ls, Speedy sliders all around, Leo Vince exhaust.

Lets see.no Woody Woodpecker nose,a few pounds less,a few hp more thanks to a larger air box, Ohlins forks,a reasonable seat height. Those are a few reasons. It isn,t just the fact that the new Monsters are visually pleasing to look at,certainly the fact I'm dropping 16 grand plus must tell you I'm pretty sure of my decision. I'm one who does realise that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. That being said ,my second choice of Ducati would be a Hyper.I'd learn to live with that front fender that is only rivalled in gawdiness by something that rolled out of a German or Austrian factory.
