Because the stock suspension on my SC Sport 1000 left much to be desired, because the seat height was always too tall for me and shaving the seat wasn't enough, and because everything the dealer did in setting up the bike with a lower seat height messed up the bike's geometry and suspension even more....

I had Phil Douglas with Aftershocks (now at Tri-Valley Moto) do his suspension magic, and lower the bike at the same time.  I'm very happy with the work, as the bike feels more settled, and I am guessing finally handles the way it was intended to.

But I forgot that by lowering the bike, it now sits almost straight up with the kickstand down.  Most people say the best fix is to cut the stand and weld the foot back on.

Can anyone please make a suggestion as to who, preferably in the East Bay, can do this work?

Thanks.

Norman Racing.  They're in Berkeley.  They don't advertise that they work on motorcycles, but they do it and they have a soft spot for Ducatis.  Most of the guys in there ride something--one of them has a Hyper'tard.  Ezno and I stumbled upon them when we owned the Alfa and we go back to them with most of our m/c welding needs.

Dennis Etcheverry is the welder/fabricator at Norman racing. He does all of the welding for Desmotosport and Munroe motors, and is a Ducati owner as well. He had a Monster S4R, but traded it in on a Hypermotard.  He does all of the welding for our Ferrari shop, and can weld anything. Give him a call at 510-525-1164 and he will fix you up.
