My bike will only go 126...

Should I get a 600?

Totally off-topic (sorry, OP), but here's some high speed desert nostalgia for ya, Speeddog . . .

I recall some sort of Ducati documentation saying M900 S4.  [coffee]

ive heard the same... The reason why the Op said m900 S4 is because thats whats on his title. S4's were built from left over Vin numbers that were suppose to be m900's.

On my S2R1000 title, its listed as a m1000s and i believe thats whats on my seat/frame sticker as well.

137 sounds about right.  My 99' M900 w/ flatslides and Hi-comps will hit 135 on the GPS.  I think it would do more but the gearing is limiting (15 front 41 rear).  Stops accelerating about 1000 rpms after the corrosponding peak on the dyno chart.

My M900 has Ferrachi pistons, stage 2 jetting, open airbox, exhaust, ect and will run out of breath just over 130MPH indicated.  Its the 0-100 thats fun though.

i've done >120 on both my monster and my '95 900sp.  i do NOT like it on the monster, i feel like one of those torn flags in a hurricane.  the wind buffeting is crazy.  my s2r has the little bikini fairing on the front and it vibrates very rapidly..  i considered putting a drink shaker on it.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I can only get my 750 up to 115 max and that is with arrow`s, custom mapped pcIII, and K&N. It`s plenty fast. If I get to the level that requires me to go faster it will be on the track on a different bike.

First off, thank you for all the replies, second, to the biters, remove teeth kindly, now please.
Ok, as I may or may not have stated, this is my first real bike, I knew from research what they were capable of in the turns. Hell I wanted to go to Rally school, I HATE quarter mile, NASCAR. I never intend to own anything Japanese other than a car. It's either Ducati, Aprilia, Bimota or KTM for me. I just assumed that the bike would top out a little more, and I guess with it possibly running a bit rich, may be the culprit. So now I know a few more things to look at.
2001 Monster S4, Termignoni/ECU, DP short air box w/BMC filter, Rizoma Zero's front/back, Cookie tail chop, Rizoma belt covers, Evoluzione slave, CF all over

Dont feel bad, pal of mine just couldn't seem to wrap his head around the fact that his 1200cc Buell Lightning was no where near the speed and acceleration of his friend's 1000cc GSXR, or the wheelie popping torque of our bud's 1100cc Hyper. It took alot of explaining ( and finger jabbing) before he realized cc's dont determine overall performance.
