I guess you're right.  I hadn't thought about rear sets but that's probably a much better idea.  Do they have rear sets that mount in roughly the same place?  Or are all rear sets up and back like on race bikes?

All rear sets are to be mounted on the same place that the stock ones mount. However they will be some what higher than stock, giving you a more aggressive position on the bike. It took me some time to get them, I was not sure I would like rear sets. Now I prefer them to the stock pegs.

here is an old picture of them..

sgt_H, here is a good example of some one who modified the stock brackets, it looks very good and clean. No passenger pegs..!

That's exactly what I was thinking of originally.  I kind of like that look.  Especially if they were painted black...  Hmmm something else to put on my list  Grin

No two up riding for me, passenger pegs were off my bike as soon as I got it home.   I  actually used the support on the right for my custom termi install.

Sweet looking bike bigtime.

I have been looking at the Speedymoto belt covers, I like the way they look on your bike

Sweet looking bike bigtime.

Thanks Juan

Getting back to the original thread.   After looking at the side shot of my bike with vs the without I have to agree that cutting those brackets off would clean it up.  It's drastic, but it's a nice look.

Off with them! I gridded mine off on my old 620 and now s2r. Looks 11x10^9 times better.
Personally, I think the Monster is more of a solo bike. It just don't look right with two up. To small of a bike.

I cut my foot peg brackets off.  It was a little bit of work.  Not for the faint at heart.  But I did a good job with the grinder, a little touch up paint and here you have it...
